Our Story

Queen's Pantry Teas was founded in 1999 by longtime Leavenworth resident Anita, who drew inspiration from her family ties to England. What began as a humble shop with just six jars of loose-leaf tea and a few shelves of British groceries has blossomed over the years into a beloved local destination for all things teatime.

Through the years, Queen's Pantry Teas evolved—at one point it was a deli, tea room, and full-service restaurant. As the shop underwent changes, the retail offerings grew to include over 150 varieties and flavors of loose-leaf tea and an extensive selection of British food products. Queen's Pantry Teas quickly became the go-to spot for everything related to teatime.

After 12 years of successful ownership, Anita sold Queen’s Pantry Teas to Kevin and Kathy on November 5th, 2011—fittingly, the English holiday of Guy Fawkes Day. Along with the change in ownership came a move to a new location just a block away from the original store. Reopening on Veteran’s Day, 2011, Queen’s Pantry Teas is now proudly located at 510 Delaware Street in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Most recently, on May 23, 2024, the tea shop found new owners in Chris and Lillian Howell. As native Kansans and longtime Leavenworth residents, Chris and Lillian are committed to continuing the tradition of excellence and community connection that Queen’s Pantry Teas has always been known for. This family-run business remains deeply rooted in Leavenworth, and Chris, Lillian, and their dedicated team always look forward to welcoming both locals and visitors alike.
